Praise The Lord!
What is praise? It is the expression of admiration or approval of someone or something. What does it mean to praise the Lord? It means to thank Him and give Him the recognition that He deserves. Why should we praise Him? The Lord is good and merciful toward us. Psalm 107: 1 says, “Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”
We were created by the Lord and all that we have belongs to Him. The only thing that we truly have to give the Lord is our praise. Psalms 145:10 says, “All your works shall praise you O Lord, and your saints shall bless you.” All creation was made to praise the Lord; even the animals. Psalm 150:6 says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Those of us who have given our lives to the Lord, meaning all saints, should naturally give praise and thanks to Him every day that we live to see.
When we think about all the Lord has done for us, all the time, and all that He continues to do for us with each passing day, it should be an honor to praise His name. When is the last time that you have spent time praising the Lord? Read the entire chapter of Psalm 145 and meditate on the Word. Spend time with the Lord daily and bless His name. Do not let the cares of this life rob you of your time with the Lord.
The book of Psalms is filled with songs of praise and adoration for our Lord and Creator. Be encouraged to go through this book and examine your life to see if you are praising the Lord as you should. If you do not have an active praise-life, start today. Thank the Lord by glorifying Him with praise verbally and by making good decisions that bring glory to His name. Choose Jesus today and always.
